Photographer Sues Mickalene Thomas Over Alleged Copyrighting of Johnson Publishing Photos

The suit says works shown at major museums and galleries used images from Barbara Karant’s 820 Ebony/Jet series without permission and that this use has harmed her market for a forthcoming book.
