Overview
- U.S. safety regulators and ZWILLING announced a recall covering the 1.5L Enfinigy and Enfinigy Pro kettles after 163 reports that handles loosened or separated, including five injuries and one reported second-degree burn.
- The recall covers about 113,440 units sold in the United States plus 43,963 in Canada and 48 in Mexico, with retail prices reported between $120 and $200.
- Affected models are identified by numbers printed on the bottom of the kettle or power base: 53101-200, 53101-201, and 53101-500 through 53101-504.
- Owners are told to stop using the kettles, unplug and cut the cord before disposal if instructed, and contact ZWILLING at the published recall phone number or email to obtain a full refund; Costco said members can also return the item to stores for refunds.
- The kettles were sold through Costco, HomeGoods and Zwilling.com during overlapping windows starting in late 2019, and the recall highlights product testing and quality-control issues that regulators may review for similar household appliances.
