- On Thursday June 11 two suspects on a motorcycle fired repeatedly at a parked ZBuss unit in Independencia, seriously wounding employee Ismael Huayta who was rushed to Hospital Cayetano Heredia and whose condition was described as grave.
- After the shooting passengers were evacuated from the bus and ZBuss suspended its trips to the northern region out of fear of further violence.
- Two days earlier the same terminal suffered a grenade attack that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit (UDEX) neutralized, showing the same location was targeted in separate assaults.
- Police are reviewing security-camera footage, conducting diligences and reported that a threatening note with a phone number was left at the scene, leading investigators to link the attacks to an extortion network.
