YouTube Premium to Add Peacock Streaming Inside Its App in Early 2027

The deal is designed to expand Peacock’s audience and lift NBCUniversal’s streaming revenue ahead of its planned mid‑2027 separation from Comcast.

Overview

  • Late July 2026 companies announced a multiyear pact that will make Peacock Premium’s catalog available inside the YouTube app for YouTube Premium subscribers beginning in early 2027 while Peacock stays available as a separate app.
  • YouTube says Premium subscribers will “automatically receive Peacock” but both firms have not clarified whether YouTube Premium’s price or tiers will change or how ad-supported and ad-free options will be handled.
  • The agreement also extends YouTube TV distribution and will carry selected live NBC sports on YouTube and YouTube TV with NBC Sports signing on as a production partner for some live events.
  • Executives framed the move as a growth and monetization play—Peacock has about 48 million paid subscribers and YouTube reaches more than 125 million Premium and Music users—and investors pushed Comcast shares up roughly 2 percent after the news.
  • Watch for the companies to announce exact pricing, downgrade or opt-out options, and international bundle rollouts because those choices will determine how many Peacock subs migrate to YouTube and whether this deal spurs further aggregator-style partnerships.
