Overview

  • The payroll feature is live, and workers who have an account in their name can choose the wallet as their payment method and give HR the phone number linked to their app.
  • Employers enable deposits through Telecrédito BCP by using the “Pagos Masivos Yape” function or coordinating with their BCP representative.
  • A new recovery option lets senders, from the in-app Help Center, select the mistaken transaction, tap “Me equivoqué al yapear,” and have the platform notify the recipient to request a refund.
  • Refunds are not guaranteed and depend on the recipient’s cooperation, and if the transfer went to a different wallet or a non-user, the sender must contact the recipient directly.
  • The app enforces daily limits of S/500, S/950, or S/2,000 and a monthly cap of 5 UIT (~S/26,750), users should verify official WhatsApp refund notices come from +51 939 339 299, and legal experts say refusing to return mis-sent funds can be a crime under Peru’s Penal Code.
