Yacht Club Sets May 29 Release for Mina the Hollower at $19.99

Yacht Club frames the release as a make-or-break test after a years-long, crowdfunded build.

Overview

  • Yacht Club Games, which announced the news Wednesday, set a May 29 digital launch on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with Mac and Linux support at a $19.99 price.
  • Mina the Hollower is a Game Boy Color–style, top-down action-adventure where you burrow underground, lash foes with a whip, and explore a cursed island as the mouse inventor Mina.
  • The studio says to expect more than 25 bosses and mini-bosses, 60 Trinkets, weapon upgrades, a full level-up system, New Game Plus, and hundreds of gameplay modifiers.
  • Development began after a successful 2022 Kickstarter and followed an October 2025 delay for polish, with the game going gold in late April as earlier timed demos were pulled ahead of launch.
  • Studio founder Sean Velasco has called the release a make-or-break moment, citing sales targets, while platform notes include a 120fps option on Switch 2 and a digital-only rollout at launch with wishlists now live.
