XRPL Activates FixCleanup3_1_3 to Remove Expired NFT Offers and Patch Lending Bugs

Nodes that do not install rippled v3.1.3 risk being amendment-blocked, a move that will free ledger space and correct vault and loan accounting errors.

Overview

  • The fixCleanup3_1_3 amendment is set to activate on Wednesday, May 27, and will go live with a default validator vote of yes.
  • The upgrade automatically deletes expired NFTokenOffer ledger entries so stale NFT listings no longer accumulate and consume node storage.
  • Rippled v3.1.3 enforces trust-line limits on VaultWithdraws, fixes loan accounting for defaulted or impaired loans, and adds a LoanBroker check to ensure advertised CoverAvailable matches actual assets.
  • The release changes overpayment handling to return tecNO_PERMISSION for disallowed overpayments and introduces a Permissioned Domains invariant to stop failed transactions from altering restricted settings.
  • Node operators must upgrade to rippled v3.1.3 before activation to avoid being cut out of consensus, a concern made sharper by mid-May telemetry showing roughly 40–46% of nodes had upgraded, while ordinary XRP holders and exchange users need take no action.
