XPENG X9 Tops Range and Charging at NAF El Prix

Independent test results validate the X9's powertrain ahead of a planned 2026 European rollout while revealing that public 400 kW chargers do not yet let the car reach its peak charging rate.

Overview

  • The X9 led 24 vehicles at the NAF El Prix Summer test on Friday by posting 646 km in the range run, which is an 11.4% positive deviation from its official WLTP figure.
  • The SUV recorded the fastest 10%-to-80% charging time in the field at 12 minutes and 55 seconds, giving it a clear win in the charging category.
  • The model also topped the El Prix Winter test in February with a 12-minute charge at minus 10°C, showing consistent performance across different conditions.
  • XPENG says the results validate its powertrain and charging technology but cautions that Europe’s common 400 kW public chargers have not yet fully unlocked the X9’s maximum charging capability.
  • El Prix is the largest independent European comparison of EV range and charging, so the results could strengthen consumer confidence for XPENG’s planned 2026 Europe launch starting in Norway and put pressure on networks to add higher‑speed public chargers.
