- XPENG staged live on-road demonstrations of its XNGP advanced driver assistance system during the UN/WP.29 IWG on Automated Driving Systems session in Shanghai.
- Officials from the United States, European Union, Japan, the United Kingdom and Canada experienced rides through urban and highway conditions to observe the system firsthand.
- Participants reviewed real-time perception, decision-making and control behavior along with driver status monitoring, human–machine interaction logic and safety design.
- XPENG said it was the only emerging Chinese automaker to participate throughout the session and to provide live demonstrations to global delegates.
- The company presented its upcoming VLA 2.0 architecture, described as targeting faster responses and improved performance, and said robotaxi trial operations in China are planned for later this year.
