Xenosaga: Pied Piper Returns on Switch and PC in Japan via G-MODE Archives+

The announcement signals a cautious return for a long-dormant JRPG series.

Overview

  • G-MODE, which announced the port Thursday, will release Xenosaga: Pied Piper on the Nintendo eShop for Switch and on Steam in Japan, with store pages now live.
  • The publisher has not provided a release date or window.
  • As with other Archives+ ports, the release stays faithful to the original and is Japanese-only, and the Steam page lists Cloud saves and controller support.
  • Originally launched in 2004 for Japanese feature phones, Pied Piper is a canonical prequel about Ziggy’s past as Jan Sauer, with a story by creators Tetsuya Takahashi and Soraya Saga.
  • This marks the first official Xenosaga activity in years, following a 2025 fan preservation effort and unofficial translation that have no stated connection to this release.
