Xbox Rolls Out Insider Tests for Voice Captures, Cloud-Save Restore and Bigger Wishlists

Insider testing will refine Xbox's new voice-in-capture feature before it reaches all players later this year.

Overview

  • This week Xbox began rolling four console updates to Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders while making an expanded 1,000-game wishlist available to every player.
  • Alpha Skip-Ahead users can opt in to include party chat or in-game voice chat in gameplay captures, with each player controlling whether their voice is recorded.
  • Insiders can now restore previously synced cloud-save versions directly from the console for supported titles, starting with Forza Horizon 6 and with more games to follow.
  • Achievement history gains new sorting options for Insiders, letting players order games by name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, or number of achievements unlocked.
  • Early Insider reports note low recorded voice levels and a brief freeze when capturing with voice enabled, and Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed work on 'Platinum'-style completion achievements for later this year.
