Wynn Sets September 2027 Opening for UAE’s First Licensed Casino

The company said it will absorb about $600 million in higher costs and rely on strong Macau cash flow to keep the project on schedule.

Overview

  • On Aug. 4 Wynn CEO Craig Billings announced the resort is expected to open in September 2027 and that construction has moved into interior fit-out.
  • Project costs have risen by roughly $600 million, with the company attributing about half of that increase to regional conflict that raised shipping, insurance, supply-chain and staffing expenses.
  • Wynn has contributed about $1.06 billion in cash so far, holds a 40 percent joint-venture stake, and said it may provide roughly $240 million more in equity to finish construction.
  • The company beat Q2 expectations thanks to strong Macau results, which management says gives it the cash flow and confidence to absorb higher costs rather than slow work.
  • The $5.7–5.8 billion, 1,530-room resort in Ras Al Khaimah is positioned to boost local tourism and create thousands of jobs but remains exposed to regional supply and security risks.
