WSOP Returns to ESPN With Multiyear Deal and Live Aug. 3–5 Final Table

The move signals a push to grow poker’s mainstream TV reach.

Overview

  • A multiyear deal announced Thursday between ESPN and the World Series of Poker brings the Main Event back to the network starting July 2 with more than 100 hours of coverage and at least six hours each day.
  • The tournament will pause for 20 days once the final nine are set on July 13, then resume with a live three-night final table airing Aug. 3–5 on ESPN.
  • Early-round broadcasts will feature three tables at the same time so viewers can watch more hands from top players as they advance.
  • Omaha Productions will produce the coverage, and ESPN will run primetime edited episodes during the break to introduce final-table players and build storylines.
  • The return follows recent years on CBS and PokerGO and comes after NSUS Group bought the WSOP brand in 2024, with ESPN citing its role since 1987 in popularizing the event.
