- The Welsh Rugby Union confirmed Monday it has filed an expression of interest to place a Welsh team in Premiership Women’s Rugby.
- WRU performance chief Dave Reddin said the step is to understand entry requirements and to keep Welsh talent progressing, noting 28 current internationals have PWR experience.
- Scottish Rugby said later Monday it has also submitted an expression of interest, joining the IRFU’s bid filed last week.
- PWR invited cross-border bids in April and will assess submissions before deciding on any expansion.
