Overview
- Crews have filled in lettering and the musical staff on the new “Walt Disney Studios / Mickey Mouse / Silly Symphony / Sound Cartoon” mural on the Studio Theater wall.
- The mural is on the building that hosts The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, which continues to perform during the reimagining work.
- The design draws from Disney’s early Hyperion era and uses period branding that linked Mickey Mouse to Silly Symphonies and described shorts as “Sound Cartoons.”
- Animation Courtyard will reopen as the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard on May 26 with Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and with added green space and pavement featuring character autographs and handprints.
- The Magic of Disney Animation building now sports a studio-lot paint scheme and a Sorcerer Mickey hat and will open later with an Olaf-led drawing class, an art gallery, a short-film theater, an Alice-themed playground, and character meet-and-greets.
