Woodside and BOTAŞ Sign Nine-Year LNG Supply Deal Starting in 2030

The pact marks Woodside’s first long-term entry into Türkiye’s LNG market to support BOTAŞ’s diversification.

Overview

  • Woodside will supply roughly 0.5 million tonnes of LNG per year to BOTAŞ for nine years beginning in 2030, equivalent to about 5.8 billion cubic meters of gas.
  • LNG volumes will be sourced primarily from the under-construction Louisiana LNG project in the United States, supplemented by Woodside’s broader portfolio.
  • The definitive sale and purchase agreement converts a non-binding heads of agreement signed in September 2025 into a binding commitment.
  • BOTAŞ’s deal with Woodside follows recent multi-year LNG agreements the Turkish company reached with Eni and Securing Energy for Europe.
  • Woodside noted support from the Turkish and U.S. governments for the arrangement, and the announcement comes as Liz Westcott serves as acting CEO following Meg O’Neill’s decision to step down.
