Overview
- A collision between a red BMW and a silver Ford at the junction of Bowsey Wood Road and Main Road, which occurred on Friday, July 31, left a woman in her 90s dead at the scene and other people injured.
- West Midlands Ambulance Service, a North Staffordshire BASICS doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance responded and treated casualties at the scene before taking them to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
- A man from the Ford was described as having serious injuries while the Ford’s driver and two other passengers suffered minor injuries; the BMW driver was uninjured and a boy from the other vehicle was also taken to hospital.
- Staffordshire Police have launched a public appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage, asking people to quote incident 418 of July 31, call 101 or email ciu@staffordshire.police.uk to contact collision investigators.
- Officers are supporting the deceased’s next of kin with specially trained staff and say the investigation remains ongoing as they piece together the cause and sequence of the collision.
