Overview
- Police from the División Unidad Táctica de Pacificación stopped a suspected street drug exchange on Avenida Iriarte and pursued the suspects into a Villa Zavaleta home where a 48‑year‑old woman was detained.
- Officers seized packaged drugs totaling more than 500 grams of marijuana, about 35 grams of cocaine in multiple packets, 25 doses of pasta base, doses of tusi, two precision scales, 77,000 pesos in cash and a .22 revolver with ammunition.
- Unidad de Flagrancia Sur ordered the woman detained on accusations of drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession and requested a RENAR forensic examination of the seized weapon.
- The house contained the suspect’s son (26), a nephew (20) and five grandchildren; prosecutors have also implicated the son and nephew and the Consejo de Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes has taken protective action for the minors.
- Judicial peritajes and further investigations are ongoing and authorities will use the forensic results and seized evidence to build the case and determine any additional charges or protective measures.
