Overview
- Devon and Cornwall Police arrested a woman in her 40s on suspicion of murder on Thursday after receiving what they called new information and she is being interviewed by detectives.
- Officers recovered human remains from the River Taw near Sticklepath in late June and formal forensic identification has not yet been completed.
- Taylor Charlton, who was 14 when he went missing and has since had a birthday, was last seen on CCTV on May 8 near the Tarka Leisure Centre walking toward the river.
- A 20-year-old man was previously detained on suspicion of murder and later released on bail and police say the latest arrest is one of several lines of enquiry in an investigation at an early stage.
- Taylor’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers and police have urged the public not to share unverified material while detectives pursue forensic, witness and intelligence work.
