WNDR Museum to Close Downtown Boston and Chicago Sites

The company issued a public farewell but gave no reason for the shutdowns, leaving artists, staff and event clients without an explanation.

Overview

  • WNDR announced on its Instagram that the Downtown Boston location will close on Aug. 30 and the Chicago site will close on Sept. 7.
  • The company’s post thanked visitors, artists and staff and invited the public to “come say goodbye” while declining to provide a reason.
  • Boston’s WNDR opened in 2024 at Lafayette City Center and featured interactive local-artist works such as Ballcade and Light Floor.
  • The venues also served as private-event spaces, offering a 200-square-foot lounge and the option to buy out the full 12,000-square-foot museum.
