Overview
- Marie-Louise Moreau, 84, testified that in 1992 Cardinal Marc Ouellet came up behind her during church preparations, placed his hands on either side of her, and rubbed his pelvis against her.
- Moreau told the court she disclosed the incident only in 2023, after Paméla Groleau publicly identified herself and detailed allegations against Ouellet.
- Groleau previously testified that Ouellet touched her without consent on three occasions between 2008 and 2010, including once when he allegedly ran his hand down her back to the top of her buttocks.
- Groleau said only the last of those alleged events constituted a sexual assault, while other interactions left her uncomfortable.
- Ouellet has denied wrongdoing and is pursuing a $100,000 defamation suit against Groleau as the civil trial continues in Montreal, with additional witnesses scheduled to testify.
