Wimbledon Adds Video Review for 2026, Giving Players Unlimited Challenges on Umpire Calls

The change aligns the tournament with other majors by preserving electronic line calls as definitive.

Overview

  • Players can request unlimited video reviews of specified chair-umpire judgement calls, including double bounces, touches and hindrance.
  • Reviews may be sought immediately on point-ending calls or right after a point in hindrance cases.
  • The system will operate on six show courts, with Centre Court and No. 1 Court covered throughout the event and other show courts until singles end.
  • Electronic line-calling decisions remain final, but new scoreboard prompts will display "out" and "fault" on all courts.
  • Organisers also increased daily qualifying capacity at Roehampton to 4,000, and the Championships begin on June 29.
