Wimbledon Adds Player Video Reviews for 2026 Championships

The change answers concerns after last year's electronic line-calling rollout, aligning Wimbledon with other Grand Slams.

Overview

  • Video review will operate on six show courts, with Centre Court and No. 1 Court using it throughout the tournament and Courts 2, 3, 12 and 18 during singles matches.
  • Players can request reviews of chair-umpire judgement calls such as double bounces, foul shots, touches, net contact and hindrance, either on a point-ending call or immediately after a point for hindrance.
  • Decisions from the electronic line-calling system remain final and cannot be challenged via video review.
  • There will be no limit on the number of review requests a player may make during a match.
  • Scoreboards on all courts will show visual 'out' and 'fault' indicators, and qualifying capacity at Roehampton will increase to 4,000 per day.
