- Police in Davangere say Saraswati left home on January 23 after a recent arranged marriage, allegedly eloping with Shivakumar, after which her husband Harish, 30, and her uncle-matchmaker Rudresh, 36, died by suicide.
- Harish’s note, recovered by police, names his wife, her alleged lover and two relatives, alleging threats and denying any wrongdoing on his part.
- Officers arrested Saraswati on January 28 and Shivakumar (also referred to as Kumar) on January 29, booking both for abetment to suicide as the probe continues.
