Overview
- The World Health Organization confirmed on Sunday that a strike on Friday, Aug. 7 destroyed its warehouse in Dnipro that held emergency medical supplies for frontline health facilities.
- WHO staff and drivers evacuated about 130 of roughly 300 pallets before the attack and no warehouse casualties were reported.
- The attack comes as Kyiv and Moscow exchanged overnight strikes that hit Odesa, Kharkiv’s Saltivka district and Zhytomyr, causing civilian deaths, injuries and damage to energy and residential infrastructure.
- The Dnipro loss adds to a documented pattern: WHO has verified 3,148 attacks on health care in Ukraine since February 2022, which have killed and injured hundreds and repeatedly damaged medical logistics.
