Which? Finds Ryanair Bundles Often Costlier Than Booking Basic With Add‑Ons

Ryanair rejects the findings as fake news, insisting its bundles match the cost of fares plus identical extras.

Overview

  • Which? reported that on a LondonAlicante booking for a family of four, choosing the Regular fare cost £59 more than booking Basic and adding the same seats and bags.
  • In 15 February checks across various routes, Which? found the Regular option was cheaper only once and was more expensive on seven occasions.
  • On a StanstedMalaga example for four passengers, Basic plus four 20kg bags and seat selection totaled £1,208 compared with £1,243 for the Plus bundle, a £35 saving by buying separately.
  • Which? said a family could cut £163 by taking four cabin bags instead of the eight included with the promoted Regular fare.
  • Ryanair said the claims are wrong and called the coverage fake news, stating its bundles are dynamically priced to equal the underlying fare plus extras and reiterating the same position it gave in April 2025.
