Overview
- WhatsApp began rolling the redesigned chat-list interface to a subset of iPhone users in version 26.21.74, which appeared on the App Store and TestFlight this week.
- The change moves secondary or unused chat lists out of the horizontal row at the top of the Chats tab and into a separate Filter menu that users open when needed.
- Users can now choose which default filters stay visible in the main Chats view and can hide presets such as Favorites, Unread, Groups, and Communities.
- The update adds a Drafts filter that collects chats with unsent messages and marks those conversations with a green "Draft" label for quick retrieval.
- WhatsApp first tested the system on Android and is rolling it out for iOS in stages with no firm schedule, a move that should reduce clutter for power users and push toward a more consistent cross-platform interface.
