Wetherspoon Returns Brunch Burger for Father’s Day Weekend and Confirms St Andrews Campus Pub

The weekend menu relaunch aims to drive Father’s Day trade while a confirmed St Andrews site will offer student jobs and low-cost food from September.

Overview

  • Wetherspoon has confirmed the Brunch Burger will return for one weekend this Father’s Day weekend across its UK and Republic of Ireland pubs.
  • The chain says the meal features a 6oz 100% British beef patty, American-style cheese, maple-cured bacon, a free-range fried egg and a hash brown, and comes with chips, six beer-battered onion rings and a drink.
  • Some local outlets will run the burger as an exclusive weekend offering, with a handful of Cumberland pubs named as participants and prices reported from about £10.59 with a soft drink.
  • Separately, Wetherspoon and the University of St Andrews Students’ Association have agreed to open a new pub on St Mary’s Place on 4 September 2026 with its own entrance and student input on the name.
  • University and company leaders say the partnership will create student jobs, deliver lower-cost food and drink on campus, and fits Wetherspoon’s wider strategy of using short-term menu events and local ties to boost footfall.
