West Palm Beach Police Hunt Driver After Bartender Killed on Scooter

Officers have narrowed a short time and location window, requesting residents' video or tips to identify a vehicle with likely front-end or passenger-side damage.

Overview

  • Connor Blais, 28, was found dead on the 4900 block of South Olive Avenue after being struck while riding an electric scooter and the driver fled the scene.
  • Police have asked residents between Pilgrim Road and Russlyn Drive to review home security footage from about 1:20–1:50 a.m. on Monday for any footage of the crash or a suspect vehicle.
  • Investigators say the vehicle that struck Blais may show front-end or passenger-side damage and are urging anyone who noticed a damaged car to contact the West Palm Beach Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
  • Family members and coworkers from O’Shea’s Pub have publicly mourned Blais, traveled to join each other and pushed for community tips to help identify the driver.
  • The investigation remains active and police say timely video or eyewitness tips could produce leads that identify the vehicle and driver, offering closure to Blais’s loved ones.
