West Indies Drops Women’s Test Against Australia, Confirms Six-Match White-Ball Tour
CWI refocused the Australia tour on white-ball matches to sharpen T20 World Cup preparation.
Overview
- The one-off Test has been removed, which would have been West Indies women's first since 2004 and only their second since 1979.
- The tour now features three T20Is in St Vincent on March 19, 21 and 23, followed by three ODIs in St Kitts on March 27, 29 and April 2.
- CWI framed the change as a strategic move to build combinations and concentrate resources ahead of June’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
- Cricket Australia said both boards sought to keep the Test but scheduling and venue considerations prevented fitting a red-ball match into the series.
- CWI said entry will be free for all matches and noted ongoing talks about future women’s Tests, including a potential series against England in 2027.
