West Bengal Transfers Four IPS Officers in Latest Pre-Election Police Reshuffle
The moves continue a weeks-long series of police transfers ahead of assembly elections.

- An official notification on February 19 confirmed the transfer of four IPS officers, including three district Superintendents of Police.
- Umesh Ganpat Khandbahale was moved from SP, Alipurduar, to Senior Superintendent in the North Bengal Intelligence Bureau.
- Arish Bilal was appointed SP of Basirhat Police District, replacing Dr Hossain Mehedi Rehman, who was posted as SP of Jangipur.
- Amit Kumar Shaw, previously SP of Jangipur, was transferred as SP of Alipurduar.
- The latest reshuffle follows earlier rounds on January 30–31 and February 15, with officials noting 109 inspectors have also been reassigned in the past month.
