Werder’s Baumblütenfest Opens With Orchard Wine, Funfair and Stage Shows

Extra trains with shuttle buses will manage visitor flows across the town.

Overview

  • The festival, which opened Saturday, runs through May 3 and features about 30 courtyards and gardens pouring homemade fruit wine with cakes and grilled food.
  • The funfair opens Wednesday, April 29, and the stage-led Volksfest begins Friday, May 1 with acts including DJ Tomekk and pop singer Sebastian Hämer.
  • The big parade takes place Saturday, May 2 in the town center and showcases local clubs along with the presentation of the Blossom Queen.
  • Transport agencies will add extra RE1 regional trains on weekends and on May 1, while Regiobus expands service and a shuttle bus moves visitors between orchards.
  • Werder has held the event since 1879 and, after a post-pandemic reset, the city now favors a smaller, more local-minded format that still draws many Berlin and Potsdam day-trippers.
