Overview
- Weave Robotics introduced Isaac 1 on Wednesday, July 1, and opened preorders requiring a $250 deposit with a listed price of $7,999 or a $449-per-month subscription.
- The wheeled robot focuses on two packaged capabilities — Laundry Flow for finding, folding and putting away clothes and Daily Reset for making beds and tidying common clutter — and users control tasks through a companion app.
- Isaac 1 is built with a telescoping torso, two arms with simple end-effectors, soft removable fabric shells, an eight-hour battery and a 20.5 × 22-inch footprint to fit home environments.
- Weave says the robot operates autonomously by default but switches to remote human teleoperation for edge cases, and it includes hardware controls that can physically disable cameras when not needed to address privacy concerns.
- The product positions cheaper, appliance-like robots against pricier humanoid rivals and could broaden access to domestic automation, but questions remain about how often teleoperation will be required and how well the system will scale outside limited Isaac 0 deployments.
