- Judges will also consider whether to ban owner Emma Callaghan from keeping dogs in the future.
- Callaghan was sentenced last week to three months' imprisonment suspended for 18 months, with 25 days of rehabilitation and 250 hours of unpaid work.
- The dog was seized after the August 6, 2023 incident in which it got out of a room and attacked visiting four-year-old Luna-Ann Forsyth.
- Judge Matthew Walsh KC described the assault as an unprovoked and vicious mauling; the child required two cheek surgeries and still suffers nightmares.
