Warren Teacher Arraigned After Police Say Sexually Explicit Videos of Minors Were Found on His Phone

Prosecutors say they will seek the maximum state charges in a case that has a probable cause conference set for Sept. 1.

Overview

  • Mark Michael Sharrow, 37, was arraigned on Wednesday after authorities arrested him in a separate Houghton Lake criminal sexual conduct probe and executed warrants on his home and cellphone.
  • Prosecutors charged Sharrow with five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime, plus one count each of methamphetamine possession and possession of a Schedule 5/LSD.
  • Officials allege investigators found sexually explicit videos of minors on Sharrow’s cellphone and found methamphetamine and LSD at his home during the searches.
  • A judge set bond at $1 million cash or surety with no 10% option and ordered strict conditions including a GPS tether, a ban on internet or device use, no contact with minors, and exclusion from places where minors gather.
  • Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido condemned possession of child sexually abusive material and said prosecutors will aggressively pursue the maximum charges allowed by the evidence, with a probable cause conference scheduled for Sept. 1 and further court proceedings expected.
