Overview
- Miral and Warner Bros Discovery publicly revealed and started building three Harry Potter-themed lands — Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and Hogwarts Castle — as an expansion of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi.
- The project will add more than 63,000 square metres and increase the park’s footprint by nearly 50 percent, with the developers targeting a 2029 completion date.
- Officials say the lands will be the Middle East’s first Harry Potter destination and the world’s only fully indoor, climate-controlled iteration designed to protect theming from Gulf weather.
- Specific rides and guest experiences have not been announced yet, though Warner Bros Discovery and Miral promise Abu Dhabi-unique elements rather than straight copies of other Wizarding World attractions.
- The expansion is part of Miral’s long-term Yas Island masterplan to 2040 and is intended to turn the island into a multi-day tourism hub by pairing new attractions with hotels, dining and live entertainment.
