Warner Bros. Launches Clockwork, Picks Up Sean Baker’s 'Ti Amo!' for 2027 Theatrical Release

The boutique label bets on filmmaker-led titles to draw indie talent into a studio-backed platform.

Overview

  • At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. unveiled Clockwork and announced global rights to Sean Baker’s Ti Amo!, with France excluded and a 2027 theatrical rollout planned.
  • Former Neon CMO Christian Parkes leads the label, reporting to Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, with Jason Wald overseeing acquisitions and production and Spencer Collantes heading marketing and creative.
  • Baker will write, direct, edit, cast and produce the film, reuniting with Anora producers Alex Coco and Samantha Quan under Cre Film and Rapt Film, with financing from FilmNation Entertainment.
  • Clockwork targets two to three films a year and positions itself as a home for socially relevant, culturally resonant movies designed for theaters.
  • The move brings a top indie auteur from past releases at A24 and Neon into a major-studio specialty unit, signaling Warner Bros.’ bid to compete with rivals like Focus Features and Searchlight for prestige projects.
