Wardogs Heads to Steam Early Access on Sept. 10

Bulkhead plans roughly 24 months of community-led polish focused on performance and balance before introducing paid cosmetics.

Overview

  • Pre-orders are live and guarantee access to a closed beta weekend running Aug. 21–23, and Bulkhead is offering refunds to players who are unhappy after that beta.
  • Early Access will cost about $40 on Steam with a planned rise to $60 at full release and the studio says there will be no in-game monetization during Early Access.
  • Wardogs supports 100 players split across three teams in a Control Zone mode on large maps that mix infantry, vehicles, and a cash-based meta that lets players buy gear and act as arms dealers.
  • Bulkhead and publishing partner Team17 are positioning Early Access as a two-year, feedback-driven period focused on stability, performance, balance, and bug fixes.
  • The game arrives with strong pre-release momentum — including positive creator impressions from the Aug. 7–9 playtest and more than 800,000 Steam wishlists — but it will launch into a crowded September release window that could affect visibility.
