Walmart Recalls Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter Over Possible Salmonella

The voluntary recall covers one lot sold in 19 states and urges consumers to stop use and return jars for a full refund.

Overview

  • State testing during a routine store inspection found Salmonella in three jars, a sample event that occurred on July 17 and prompted further action.
  • Importer Botticelli Foods initiated a voluntary recall that the FDA posted on August 3 for one lot identified as LB028ACP04, UPC 194346207961, expiring Jan. 28, 2027.
  • The affected 6.7-ounce glass jars were distributed exclusively to Walmart stores in 19 states, from Alabama to Wyoming.
  • No illnesses have been reported so far and consumers are advised to stop eating the product and return it to any Walmart for a full refund; Botticelli provided quality@botticellifoods.com and a phone number for questions.
  • The jars were made by Gustibus Alimentari Srl in Assoro, Italy, and the recall highlights cross-border supply-chain risks that may lead retailers and regulators to increase testing of imported nut butters.
