VW ID. Polo Launches With Low-Lease Lure as €24,995 Base Model Waits

Subsidy-boosted leases are carrying early demand pending the delayed entry trim.

Overview

  • VW’s ID. Polo, which opened for orders Monday in mid and top trims, lists from €33,795 on the configurator because the €24,995 Trend base model is not yet bookable.
  • Broker sites are advertising €122–€175 monthly leases by using Germany’s new EV grant as a €4,000–€6,000 upfront payment, though buyers still face delivery fees and standard mileage terms.
  • Early orders are slated for August–September 2026 delivery, the entry Trend trim is due in summer 2026, and a 166 kW GTI variant is scheduled for pre-sale in October starting at €38,995.
  • The MEB+ hatch offers two batteries and power levels—37 kWh LFP with 85 or 99 kW and 52 kWh NMC with 155 or later 166 kW—targeting up to roughly 450 km WLTP and DC charging up to 105 kW.
  • Built in Spain, the small EV adds notable cargo space versus the combustion Polo and enters a tight fight with the Renault 5, so uptake may hinge on how fast VW delivers the true €25k model.
