Volvo Unveils EX60 Mid-Size EV With Up to 370 kW Fast Charging

The new SUV is positioned to challenge premium German rivals by going on sale in Europe in July.

Overview

  • Volvo has revealed the EX60 as a purpose-built mid-size electric SUV with two battery options — 83 kWh and 117 kWh — built on a new platform that prioritizes interior space.
  • The company says the largest battery can deliver a manufacturer-claimed range up to about 810 "Normkilometer," a metric Volvo used in its announcement.
  • The EX60 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture that supports very high charging power generally up to 320 kW and up to 370 kW for stronger 60-series variants.
  • Power outputs span roughly 275 kW (374 PS) up to 500 kW (680 PS) across the range, all versions are electronically limited to 180 km/h, and luggage capacity ranges from 523 to 1,647 liters plus a frunk.
  • Volvo set a July market launch in Europe with base pricing from €62,990, optional Cross Country styling for €3,000, and mixed trim choices aimed at buyers who value range, fast charging, and roomy packaging.
