Overview

  • Volkswagen revealed the production ID. Polo on Wednesday, confirming full specs and pricing and opening German pre‑sales for the launch Life trim at €33,795 with deliveries due later in 2026.
  • Germany’s base price is €24,995 with the lower‑priced entry model and additional variants due mid‑year, positioning the car below the Renault 5 E‑Tech’s starting price reported for Germany.
  • Built on the MEB+ platform, the hatchback offers two batteries (37 kWh LFP or 52 kWh NMC), three motor outputs (85, 99, 155 kW), WLTP ranges of about 329 to 454 km, and 10–80% DC charging in roughly 23–24 minutes.
  • As the first model with VW’s new Pure Positive design, the car brings back physical buttons, adds a 10‑inch digital cluster and 13‑inch infotainment screen, includes Connected Travel Assist with traffic‑light recognition, and provides standard vehicle‑to‑load power up to 3.6 kW.
  • Packaging gains from the EV layout include a 2,600 mm wheelbase and a 441‑litre boot, with Trend, Life, and Style trims plus options like matrix LED lights and a Harman Kardon system, and a GTI version confirmed to follow in 2027.
