Volkswagen Revives Polo Name With €25,000 ID. Polo EV Launching in Spring 2026

The small EV leads a new entry range using MEB+ hardware with PowerCo cell-to-pack batteries to cut cost and boost efficiency.

Overview

  • Volkswagen published official specs, confirming a subcompact footprint (4,053 x 1,816 x 1,530 mm), a longer interior, and a 435‑liter boot versus the petrol Polo.
  • Three launch outputs are planned at 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW, all front‑wheel drive, with a later GTI around 166 kW to follow after the initial rollout.
  • Two batteries will be offered: a 37 kWh LFP pack for lower‑power versions and a 52 kWh NMC pack claimed to deliver up to 450 km WLTP.
  • Charging figures include up to 90 kW DC for the 37 kWh pack (10–80% in about 27 minutes) and up to 130 kW DC for the 52 kWh pack (10–80% in about 23 minutes), with 11 kW AC on both.
  • Production is assigned to SEAT/CUPRA’s Martorell plant in Spain, development was led by SEAT/CUPRA with design in Wolfsburg, and the model debuts updated ADAS such as enhanced Travel Assist plus traffic‑light and stop‑sign recognition.
