Volkswagen Confirms 2026 Taigun and Virtus Facelifts as ADAS Rollout Takes Shape

The brand will introduce driver-assistance features in phases from premium models to control costs before adapting them to India 2.0 cars.

Overview

  • Volkswagen said the Taigun and Virtus will receive mid-cycle updates in India in 2026.
  • The Taigun refresh will follow the updated Skoda Kushaq with subtle exterior tweaks, upgraded cabin materials, and a features realignment that is not expected to add ADAS at this stage.
  • The Virtus update is slated for the latter half of the year with a possible larger infotainment system, revised software, and premium interior trims, while an eight-speed automatic is under consideration.
  • ADAS development for mass-market models is underway with a top-down rollout already seen on the Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI and planned for the Tayron R-Line, but no timeline has been announced for India 2.0 cars.
  • Volkswagen and Škoda are expected to share ADAS integration learnings, and VW reports that 60% of Taigun and Virtus sales come from top-spec GT variants with strong demand for automatics.
