Volaris Adds 11 Querétaro Routes, Linking to Six Mexican Cities and Five U.S. Destinations

Local forecasts point to about three million travelers at AIQ in 2026 as the expansion takes hold.

Overview

  • The new network will connect Querétaro to Acapulco, Durango, Guadalajara, Mazatlán, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Orlando and San Antonio.
  • State officials estimate roughly 300,000 additional users from the added service with about 1,750 million pesos in ticket sales.
  • The airline’s move represents one third of 33 new routes Volaris recently announced across its network.
  • AIQ handled 2,426,000 passengers in 2025, up 16% year over year, and moved 83,000 tonnes of cargo, an 8% increase.
  • Authorities linked the expansion to a long-term plan to build an airport city around AIQ under a master development roadmap to 2050.
