- Virgin Media said a break in a fibre cable caused the outage, adding that engineers worked overnight to repair damaged fibres and apologized to those affected.
- Some customers were told service may return by about 4:12 p.m. Friday, though users continued to report issues and DownDetector showed hundreds of new reports in the morning.
