Overview
- Vijay will travel by special flight from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli on Monday, June 1, and take part in a thanksgiving meeting at St. Joseph’s College opposite the Chathiram Bus Stand.
- He resigned the Tiruchirappalli East assembly seat after winning it and has chosen to retain his Perambur seat, with the visit described as a chance to thank local voters.
- Tiruchirappalli City Police and TVK organisers are finalising security plans and traffic diversions around the bus stand area because the event is expected to draw large crowds.
- The new state government has already carried out a major IAS reshuffle, including the transfer of E Sundaravalli from Commissioner of Collegiate Education to Special Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department.
