Overview
- Aerial rehearsals on Wednesday surprised residents across the Rías with fast F-18 and Eurofighter passes plus transport planes and helicopters.
- The Concello activated a mobility plan on Thursday 22 May that installed a military logistics base at Complexo Deportivo das Travesas and put in place reserved lanes and street closures through 1 June.
- The official programme remains set with a naval review in the Ría de Vigo on Friday 29 May at 15:30 and the central parade and precision aerial display at Playa de Samil on Saturday 30 May to be presided over by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
- Organizers say the display will involve roughly 3,000–3,300 personnel, more than 100 vehicles and about 68–71 aircraft organized in 17 timed packages to execute a 10 minute 40 second flypast.
- The mobilisation is already straining the city: hotels report about 90% occupancy, fishers and coastal communities have voiced alarm at rehearsal noise, and authorities urge use of public transport as traffic restrictions will limit private access.
