Victorville Resident Arrested in Killing of Two Relatives, Wounding a Third

Authorities are seeking public tips.

  • Deputies responded around 8:58 p.m. Friday to an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon call on the 13000 block of Sundown Road in Victorville.
  • Three people were found with gunshot wounds, and two women — 48-year-old Ayanna Smith and 26-year-old Annaya Scott of Cerritos — were pronounced dead at a hospital.
  • A third victim, a 28-year-old man from Redlands, remained hospitalized, with his condition not released as of Sunday.
  • Investigators identified 45-year-old Sydney Smith of Victorville as a family member suspect and arrested the individual on suspicion of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
