- Passenger Alex Kenneth Schussolin, 37, tried to run but was detained, and officers later found a gun near where he fled.
- An officer saw blood in the SUV and found an unresponsive man in the rear; detectives then located a second victim, a woman, down an embankment off State Route 175 north of the county line.
- CHP booked Schussolin and driver Jasslynn Pearl Critchett, 32, into Lake County Jail on suspicion of murder, carjacking, and being felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
